Art Quilts

This body of work started as part of my graduate school research in art therapy. In my work, I was most interested in the experimental process of using fabric in multiple capacities.  Throughout my experimentation, I focused on the process of creating quilts to express the narrative of my lifetime development in the arts.  By using the art quilting techniques, such as bubble-jet-set printing photos on fabric, translucent liquid sculpey transfer, free-motion quilting, thermo fax screen-printing, and re-purposing fabrics, I was able to personalize the process of making pieces of my history. My research has continued to explore the sentimental use of fabric to explore nostalgia, sustainability, and accessibility of fibers.
